Resume Building:
How to Brush Up on Your Resume

Dear

Just like moving back home, re-entering the "work force" can be difficult. "We The People" put together some helpful suggestions on how to get re-acquainted with the job hunt. The first step is: the resume. When you get back home and start the job search, you'll need a strong, distinct resume.

Top Resume Tips:

- Quantify your accomplishments in terms of numbers.
- Have a consistent format and font.
- Spell check.
- Use action verbs, i.e. persuaded, challenged, extrapolated.
- Limit resume to one page. Include a cover letter and contact information.
- Specialize your resume based on specific job applications.
- Be persistent. Send out your resume to as many places as possible.
- Follow up with a phone call or an email.

Helpful Moving Tips

Don't forget to:

  • Get supplies: packaging tape, boxes, newspaper, and bubble wrap.
  • Pack items first that you don't use often.
  • Properly identify your boxes.
  • Let the Post Office know your change of address.
  • Find a few friends to help you move.

It's Time to Come Home

You will remember, all of this started with the pink slip we sent you. So far you have refused to respond to our concerns on the issues listed. If you are interested in winning back the public trust, we urge you to visit MoveOutCongress.com. In the meantime, we'll keep asking everyone we know in your district to send you another pink slip.
